JESSICA DE MATOS FONSECA
UFSC, BRAZILAdjunct Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Food Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (EQA - UFSC). Food Engineer (UFLA - 2014), Master in Chemical Engineering (USP - 2016) and PhD in Food Engineering (UFSC - 2021) with a sandwich period at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP - 2020/Capes PrInt Program). She has been working for 9 years and currently supervises research in the Postgraduate Program in Food Engineering at UFSC in the areas of Food Engineering, Science and Technology and multidisciplinary areas (materials sciences and chemical engineering) with an emphasis on Development and Characterization of Active and Intelligent Nanomaterials for application in food packaging and coating. During her master's degree, she specialized in the development and characterization of hybrid nanomaterials for encapsulation and controlled release of active compounds, free radical copolymerization and spray drying. During his doctorate, she developed as a thesis project a non-thermal technology for preserving fruits based on biodegradable nanocomposites and ethylene photocatalysts, which was awarded first place in the Santa Catarina Prof. Innovation Award in 2022. She is currently part of the local and national organizing committee of the VI Iberoamerican Conference on Advanced Oxidative Processes (CIPOA), which will be held in Florianópolis-SC (2024).
