SERGIO YESID GOMEZ GONZALEZ

Sergio Yesid Gómez González has a degree in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical
Engineering at Universidad de los Andes (UniAndes), Bogotá, Colombia, in 2008;
master’s in Mechanical Engineering (UniAndes) in 2010; PhD in Materials Science and
Engineering at Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in 2015, with a period
(2012 and 2013) at Norges Teknisk-Naturvitenskapelige Universitet (NTNU), Trondheim,
Norway; with post-doctoral experience (2015-2017) in Materials Engineering Science,
Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). He is currently Professor at the Federal
University of Santa Catarina, working at the Mass Transfer Laboratory and the
Laboratory of Numerical Simulation of Chemical Systems (LABMASSA-LABSIN). He is
a collaborator of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for the Development of Nanostructures
(LINDEN). His research is focused on functional materials development and process
intensification applied to renewable energy production, wastewater treatment, and
sustainability.
